California law requires all employers of 5 or more employees to provide 1 hour of sexual harassment and abusive conduct prevention training to nonsupervisory employees and 2 hours of sexual harassment and abusive conduct prevention training to supervisors and managers once every two years. The law requires that both supervisory and non-supervisory employees must receive training by January 1, 2021.

Recordkeeping Requirements

California requires employers to retain a record of all employees’ training for a minimum of two years. There are no additional reporting requirements with the FEHA online option. However, if employers opt to do their own training, there are additional recordkeeping requirements.
